Jared Jaffee is the WPT Choctaw champion and Bin Weng, who was going for a historical two wins-in-a-row, finished fourth. He wins $400,740 and gets his name on the Mike Sexton Championship Cup — again.
This is Jaffee’s second WPT title, the first coming ten years ago at the WPT Jacksonville bestbet Fall Poker Scramble.
“It’s been too long (since winning my first WPT Title) I guess they weren’t lying when they said if you wait a little longer it will be a little sweeter,” Jaffee said. “This is definitely the best feeling I’ve had winning a poker tournament so far.”
Jaffee was part of a field of 612 who ante-ed up $3,800 in Oklahoma. It was the eighth time the WPT stopped at the Durant casino, which gets a ton of players from Texas.
The tournament played down to the final six May 8, and then — November-nine style — broke for 19 days before reconvening on the WPT set to be filmed for TV. It was alsolive-streamed on WPT’s platforms.
Weng came into yesterday’s final table as the chip leader and the chance to make WPT history as the only person to win back-to-back delayed tables after taking down the WPT WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Thursday. It didn’t work out, even though Weng came into the final table with the chip lead.

“As WPT Choctaw reaches an exciting conclusion, I would like to thank all that helped put on this event from start to finish,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “What a tremendous achievement by Jared Jaffee, now a two-time member of the WPT Champions Club.”
Jaffee also scores a seat in the to $10,000 WPT Championship at the Wynn in December. A Las Vegas resident, the drive will be easy.
The top 77 players were paid at least $6,980.
This cash was only $5,000 less than his best.
Jaffee is no stranger to WPT success. His 33 cashes put him seventh on it’s all time list and he’s made six final table. Two wins out of six, not too bad, sir. He’s won just shy of $2 million in WOT events since 2009, and $6.4 million total, according to The Hendon Mob.
He won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in a $1,500 event in 2015, good for $405,248. He also owns three WSOP Circuit rings, two which came in mint events with buy-ins of $250 and $500, and also the $1,500 main at the Bicycle in 2017 for $211,220.
